The Brooklyn Nets came to Beantown, looking for a win and they certainly found one.
A sluggish first half was saved by Rip Hamilton and Rajon Rondo (19 points) as Boston kept a small lead over the surging Nets, but the 3rd quarter spelled disaster for the defending champions, who shot terribly compared to amazing 70% shooting by the Nets.
Discouraged, Boston never got rolling, despite a good game by Rondo, and their defense allowed for far too many points from Deron Williams, Gerald Wallace, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson. Sometimes, winning is impossible.
